Lauren Gonzalez is a Ph.D. candidate in Forestry and Entomology at North Carolina State University. Originally from Miami, Florida, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, followed by a Master of Science in Biology from Western Carolina University.
Her research focuses on the management of Adelges tsugae (hemlock woolly adelgid) and the conservation of eastern and Carolina hemlocks. Lauren brings a strong foundation in ecology and forest health, with extensive experience in teaching and outreach. As a resident of southeast Raleigh, living beside Walnut Creek, she is passionate about using her research and studies to support her community.
